Engagement with our communities and stakeholders has always been a very important part of the planning process in South Staffordshire.
Our award-winning approach is made up of a mixture of traditional methods of engagement, moving towards a more digital approach, in line with government guidance.
Statement of Community Involvement
We have an adopted Statement of Community Involvement (SCI), which is a requirement of all local planning authorities.
It sets out how we will consult with local communities, statutory bodies, and other organisations for both planning applications and Local and Neighbourhood Plans.
It was adopted in June 2019 and will be updated to reflect changes when necessary, in legislation and good practice.
Making comments online
We have an online consultation portal which enables people and organisations to make comments on Local Plan consultations.
You can manage your own account, set a password, identify areas of interest, and read comments made to previous consultations.
The consultation portal will be used to consult on the preparation of the Local Plan, alongside other strategic planning issues, such as planning guidance and housing strategy.
Information on how to make and read comments can be found at Local Plan Online Consultation System.
To make comments on planning applications please see Public Access.
