South Staffordshire Council have commissioned some resurfacing works to the footpath on the Wyrley Essington Canal and our contractor will be on site from Tuesday, January 28th, for approximately three weeks.

These works are being funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and will help local access to the site and increase opportunities for green, active travel.

Please note that during the works, we will be closing off a section of the footpath from Strawberry Lane heading towards Cheslyn Hay (marked in red on the plan below - click on the image to show the full plan) and residents will not be able to use this path whilst the work is being carried out.  We will also be closing off pedestrian access from the gate at the rear of Strawberry Lane Cemetery.  We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you have any questions about the work then please contact 01902 696000.
