Rubble fly tipping

Christian Cosatache, aged 28, of Carter Road, Wolverhampton, pleaded guilty via a Romanian interpreter to fly tipping rubble at Wergs Fishery in Codsall on 26th February, saying he was clearing his yard to make it in a better condition for him and his family.

Mr Costache was caught in the act of fly tipping by a witness who called the police.  The police attended and Mr Costache was subsequently interviewed by South Staffordshire District Council officers.

The court imposed a fine, costs and victim surcharge totalling £2482.

Councillor Rita Heseltine said “There is no excuse for fly tipping rubbish of any kind – it is irresponsible and illegal. Fly tipping costs us as a council and private landowners thousands of pounds every year and this is not fair or acceptable. We are pleased this court result shows that we will not tolerate people committing waste crime in South Staffordshire”
