This exciting new partnership provides an additional £200,000 funding through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund which forms part of the government’s Levelling Up funds to support residents living in South Staffordshire. This will build on the strong track record of South Staffordshire Council’s Warmer Homes Scheme supporting residents in fuel poverty and living with health conditions to reduce their energy bills and maintain proactive solutions to aid sustainable living.

Deputy Leader of South Staffordshire District Council, Councillor Victoria Wilson, said this is a positive step forwards in supporting our residents.

“As a district council, we are committed to supporting our residents wherever we can, and the partnership with Community Home Solutions to deliver our Warmer Home service is a great way to do this. Providing independent advice and government funding for retrofitting from a trusted source, will certainly be of great benefit to our communities.”

Chris Viner, Managing Director of Community Home Solutions, said “We’re really excited to be working in partnership with South Staffordshire Council to deliver funding through the Warmer Homes Scheme. We have already helped many residents with life changing energy saving improvements and this is a great initiative to support even more households. At Community Home Solutions we put our customers and clients first and pride ourselves on being reliable, honest and committed to delivering quality services.

Through the available schemes there are a number of ways in which residents can qualify. If you’re unsure if you would qualify, please contact us to speak to a member of the team who will look at the best options for you and your home.”

Residents can self-refer for the schemes, by contacting Community Home Solutions on 0115 718 1822, emailing at info@communityhomesolutions.co.uk, or by visiting the South Staffordshire Warmer Homes website and submitting an application.

Active work is being undertaken to identify appropriate households for the scheme through local GP’s and health and wellbeing groups for those with health conditions impacted by the cold such as cardiovascular and respiratory conditions.

South Staffordshire Council and Community Home Solutions will also be present at local events across the district, providing an opportunity to discuss your eligibility for the scheme in person.

Where customers can’t be helped through grant funding, Community Home Solutions will still discuss softer services such as energy advice and where possible refer into any other available programmes.
