Information on who your Locality Enablers are and what they do to best support our communities.

At South Staffordshire Council, we want to ensure that we are best placed to support our communities and therefore created a team of Locality Enablers who work with local community groups and representatives to learn how we as a council can best support each area.

Our new video explains how we as a council divide the district into five localities and how our Locality Enablers work with our communities.

What are locality enablers?

Locality Enablers are South Staffordshire Council employees from across a range of specialisms with additional responsibilities for one of our five localities. Our Locality Enablers who focus on supporting our communities are:

  • Karen Riley for Locality One
  • Rob Sharratt and Andy Aston for Locality Two
  • Ryan Taylor for Locality Three
  • Maggie Quinn for Locality Four
  • Harvey Bains for Locality Five
  • Alex Evans for Community Engagement
  • Rachel Maguire for Digital Engagement

What is Locality working?

Locality working is all about making sure that the services that are delivered in local areas are needed, and that they are appropriate and relevant rather than taking a blanket approach across the whole district. Locality working focuses on one of the delivery arms of the Council Plan - working with our communities.

Some key focuses of our Locality working are:

  • Gaining a better understanding of what works well already and what needs to be improved.
  • Improving communication between the different levels of local government and the community
  • Developing new ways to deliver services more flexibly
  • Improving the way that service providers work together in partnership
  • Supporting the community to solve their own problems.

What are localities?

The Council works in serving five locality areas across the district. These are:

  • Locality One - Acton Trussell, Bednall & Teddesley Hay, Dunston with Coppenhall, Hatherton, Huntington and Penkridge
  • Locality Two - Blymhill & Weston under Lizard, Brewood & Coven, Lapley and Stretton & Wheaton Aston
  • Locality Three - Cheslyn Hay, Essington, Featherstone, Great Wyrley, Hilton, Saredon and Shareshill
  • Locality Four  - Bilbrook, Codsall and Perton
  • Locality Five - Bobbington, Enville, Himley, Kinver, Lower Penn, Pattingham & Patshul, Swindon, Trysull & Seisdon and Wombourne
