Changes in circumstances

If you have a change in your circumstances you can report it by email to benefits@sstaffs.gov.uk or by calling 01902 696668.

People with a low income

If you have a low income from work or benefits and savings below £6,000 (for pensioners £16,000) you could be entitled to a reduction in the council tax you pay.

Non-dependant deductions

A non-dependant is any person over the age of 18 years, who normally lives with the claimant and is not a partner, dependant child, joint tenant or a sub-tenant. 

Universal Credit

Universal Credit is a single monthly payment that will replaces six existing benefits for working age people.
